Obituary of Harry C. Filliger

Harry C. Filliger, age 89, of Kingston, died on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at the Wingate at Silver Lake in Kingston, after a long period of failing health.
Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Louis & Mina (Buengener) Filliger. Harry grew up and was educated in Newark, NJ, where he met Evelyn Bayreder; they married and started their family.
He served as a Staff Sergeant during World War II in the US Army for six years.
In 1971, Harry and his family moved to North Reading, MA, and he retired in 1987 to Kingston, MA. Harry enjoyed woodcarving, camping, fishing and reading. For many years, he was a member of Saint Joseph's Church in Kingston.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Evelyn (Bayreder) Filliger; devoted children, Karen Chandler & her husband David of Yarmouth, Gerry Filliger & his wife Cheryl of North Waterboro, ME, Regina Millett of North Easton, Randy Filliger & his wife Denice of Allenstown, NH and ten loving grandchildren. He was the dear brother of the late Louis Filliger.
There will be no calling hours.
His funeral Mass will be held at Saint Joseph's Church, 272 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Friday, February 10 at 11:30 AM.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Harry's memory may be made to Saint Joseph's Church, Wingate at Silver Lake or to Cranberry Hospice.
