Jeanette S. Dickson, of Naples, Maine, formerly of Cohasset and Kingston, MA, died May 19, 2012, at Bridgton Health Care Center.
She was born in Middleborough, MA on May 8, 1914, the daughter of Carl W. and Charlotte Perkins Stegmaier. She was Valedictorian of her class at Kingston High School and attended Barnard College in New York City.
On July 3, 1938, she married Joseph T. Dickson and assisted him with running their own photography studio in Plymouth, MA for many years. She was a member of the Unitarian Church in Kingston and Plymouth and served on the Kingston School Committee. Jeanette had many talents including working with stained glass, copper enameling, making jewelry and playing the piano.
She is survived by a daughter, Judith D. Fortin of Naples, ME; a son, Thomas N. Dickson and his companion Beverly Medinger of Plymouth, MA; five grandchildren, Roger Weaver, Janice Shanks, Geoffrey Dickson, Jennifer Hicks and Kaylen Medinger; six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Rachel and Georgia Shanks, Robert and Reagan Hicks and Cameron Dickson; a sister, Anita Carey; and many other extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband.
Arrangements have been handled by the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, Kingston, MA, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
