Obituary of Ronald E. Peacock

Ronald E. Peacock, Sr., age 76, of Summerfield, FL, formerly of Norton, died on Monday, November 5, 2012, at the Villages Regional Hospital in Lady Lake, FL.
Born in Duxbury on January 11, 1936, he was the beloved son to the late Howard Leon & Evelyn Mary (Wiltshire) Peacock and step-son to the late Grace (Mooney) Peacock. Ronnie grew up and was educated in South Boston. He served in the United States Army as Corporal Regular in the 25th Division and is a veteran of the Korean War.
He married Katherine M. Brady and they raised four children in their long time residence in Norton. Ronnie became a Boston Police Officer and was later promoted to Detective. He attended Northeastern University where he studied criminal law. He retired on January 31, 1997 from the Boston DEA. He received many letters of commendation and awards during his career of 32 years on the Boston Police Force. It was a job that he was very proud to serve.
After his retirement, Ronald fulfilled his life dream to visit Australia. He traveled to Australia 11 times, as well as many other countries, and he made numerous treasured lifelong friends along the way. Among his other interests were politics, gardening, spreading humor and laughter. He loved his family more than anything in the world. Ronald was the keeper of the family history.
Ronnie was the loving father to Ronald E. Peacock, Jr. & his wife Marilyn of Ohio, Kevin M. Peacock of Ohio, Katherine M. Peacock & her husband Thomas of Seekonk and Michael A. Peacock of Texas; cherished grandfather to Alyssa, Dylan, Thomas III, Jeremy, Brady and Dustin; devoted brother of Howard Peacock of Dorchester, Jon Peacock of Randolph, Roger Peacock of Maine, Herbert Peacock of Walpole, Evelyn MacNeil of Melrose, Darlene Horgan of Medford, Dwight Pembrook of Alabama, Peter Wiltshire of Pennsylvania, Gracie Talbot of Norton and the late Sandra Bass, Henry Peacock, Thomas Peacock and Patricia Peacock. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, Katherine M. Brady and Sheryl Peacock.
Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Tuesday, November 13, from 3:00-7:00 PM.
Funeral services at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, on Wednesday, November 14 at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow with military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30 PM.
