Obituary of Kenneth W. Bradley

Kenneth W. Bradley, of Kingston, MA, died at home surrounded by family, on Monday, November 26, 2012.
Born in Kentucky in 1922, he was one of the "Greatest Generation"; beloved father of eight children, a devoted husband, a World War II Navy veteran, and a grandfather to 15 children as well as several great and great-great grandchildren. Affectionately known as "Papa" to so many family, extended family, and friends, Ken lived for family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan; two sons, Ken Jr. and John; five daughters, Anne Schlager, Mary Madru, Pamela Danner, Sandra Palavanchi and Laurie Harrington; three brothers, Robert, Dale and John; and two sisters, Jewell Tarvin and Edith Hornsby. Ken was the son of the late Lucas & Annie Belle Bradley. Ken's sisters, Mildred and Hattie and his brother, Harrison predeceased him, as did his oldest daughter, Cheryl in 2010.
Ken's family invites friends and family to share in the celebration of Ken's life on Friday, November 30, at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
Funeral services at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, on Saturday, December 1 at 9:00 AM, followed by his funeral Mass at Saint Joseph's Church, 272 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, at 10:00 AM.
Burial with military honors will follow at Saint Patrick's Cemetery, 125 Central Street, Rockland.
The family requests that donations in Ken's memory be made to the Kingston Public Library, 6 Green Street, Kingston, MA 02364. Ken was an avid fan of westerns, mystery and historical fiction. Donations in his name will be used to add to the large print library in the town where Ken lived for the past 50 years or to the Kingston Fire Department Ambulance Fund, 105 Pembroke Street, Kingston, MA 02364.
