It is with deep sadness, that I read from Florida my good friend Joe Shea has passed on.
I had known Joe for many years as a pleasant and happy man always wanting to do good for people and the community.
His was fully dedicated to the success of Duxbury's XNAVOS organization of former naval officers who had served with the U.S. Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines. He was often a key contributor to the success of dinner meetings and other matters related to naval history in Duxbury. He often arranged to have the evening speaker attend who would present information on an interesting topic.
I will miss Joe and send my heart felt condolences to his family.
Sincerely,
John Kolstad USCG (ret)

It was with great sadness that I learned of Joe's passing. I served with Joe on the Highway Safety Committee, and Joe's infectious laugh and humor made for a very interesting meeting to say the least. He knew the rules and regs of Highway Safety and was a great Chairman. He will be missed by all he knew him and knew of his love of Duxbury and doing the right thing for the Town.

Dear Shea Family,
I knew Joe for a number of years and served with him on the Duxbury Municipal Commission on Disability. We depended on Joe to guide us with our recommendations as he knew the codes by heart. He encouraged discussion and welcomed new ideas. He spoke, with love and caring, of Jackie during her illness. He accepted her death as a time for her to be at peace and now he has found peace, too.
Remember that Joe lives on in his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.

To all of Joe's family: I was sorry to hear about Joe's passing. We shared many good times together at First Parish Church during my tenure there. He always kept me going with his stories of history and his love of the church. I could alwlays turn to him with any questions on the church and the computer. I will think of him often and I'm sure he's spinning his stories with Jackie by his side.
