Obituary of Diane P. Newton

Diane P. Newton, age 64, of Carver, died Friday, February 8, 2013, at her home. Born in Aberdeene, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Phyllis A. (Pithan) & Lt. Col. (Retired) Carlos E. Newton. Diane enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, playing games, coloring, cooking and caring for others. She loved her cat "Midnight", had a great sense of humor and was an inspiration to those who knew her. "Elvis" was a favorite of Diane's. She enjoyed his music and watching old Elvis movies. This past September, she enjoyed a BBQ with a special appearance by Elvis, and had the time of her life dancing and singing along. She will be missed by all. Diane is survived by brothers; James D. Newton & his wife Tammy of Port Angeles, Washington and Robert Newton of Washington. She was the sister of the late Larry E. Newton and niece of the late Louise Newton. A visitation period will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, (Route 58), Carver, on Thursday, February 14, 2013, starting at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
