Obituary of Joanne M. Dana

Joanne M. (Rabs) Dana, of Pembroke, passed away on February 13, 2013. She was 82 years old. Born in Norwood, MA, she was raised and educated in Dorchester, and is a graduate of Jeremiah E. Burke High School. Joanne worked as an Information Operator at New England Telephone, and later with the Boston Police Department, as School Traffic Supervisor, Badge #1. Joanne enjoyed crocheting, reading, her cats, and listening to her police and fire scanners. Joanne enjoyed working the polls for Pembroke voting, and was a supporter of the Pembroke Military Support Group. She was also a proud member of the " Pleasant Street Girls". Loving wife of the late George R. Dana. Beloved mother of the late Robert P. Dana (Metropolitan Police). Brother of Paul F. Rabs, and his wife Leslie of Bucksport, ME, and the late Henry E. Rabs, Jr. Joanne is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as many devoted friends and family. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 18th from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 19th at 10:00 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Pembroke.
