Obituary of David John Marani

David John Marani, Jr., age 69, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth. Born in Quincy, he was the son of the late Margaret Daisy (Wolfe) & David John Marani, Sr. For many years, David worked for Raytheon Company as a facilities manager and retired in 2009. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and "16" closest friends, as well as fishing, playing keno, scratch tickets and most of all spending time with his family. David is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Patricia F. (Dugan) Marani; his four loving children and their spouses, Angela & Jay Flaherty of Halifax, David & Tracy Marani of Halifax, Kevin & Barbara Marani of Halifax and Kerri & Michael Cantino of Pembroke. He was the beloved and cherished Papa of 14 grandchildren. David was the dear brother of Robert Marani of Raynham, Richard Marani of Hull, Margaret Mullen of Pembroke and the late Stephen Marani. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan Street, Hanson, on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow at the Center Cemetery, Oldham Street, Pembroke. In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's memory may be made to the Pembroke Youth Hockey, c/o Renae Tuffy, 54 Farmside Drive, Pembroke, MA 02359.
