Obituary of Junie N. Delgado

Junie (Augusto) Delgado, age 81, of Carver, formerly of Whitman and Wareham, died on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at his home. Born in Wareham, he was the son of the late August N. & Mary (Andrews) Delgado. Junie was a well decorated veteran in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid horseman and owner of Delgados Discount Carpet Center, formerly in Whitman. Junie truly loved and enjoyed his granchildren. He was the beloved husband of Janice L. (Lopes) Delgado; dear father of Denise Boone-Delgado of Kingston, Rick Delgado of Middleborough, Randy Delgado of Wareham, Latisha Delgado of Randolph, Sabrina Kreuger of New Hampshire, Tabitha Anderson of Carver and the late Kim Delgado; loving grandfather of 20 and great-grandfather of 4; dear brother of Mae Pires of New Bedford, Margaret Gomes of Wareham, Napoleon Delgado of Wareham, Lorainne Duarte of New Bedford, Natalie Matthews of Plymouth and the late Madeline Allen, Alice Presley, Edna Canpinha, George Ferry and Manuel Neves. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, (Route 58), Carver, on Monday, September 9, 2013, from 4:00-8:00 PM. Graveside services at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Bennington Boulevard, Bourne, on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Traumatic Brain Injury or the Alzheimer's Association.
