Obituary of Marjorie L. Smith

Marjorie L. (Holder) Smith, age 95, of Falmouth, formerly of Carver and Cambridge, died on Thursday, January 23, 2014, at the Royal Falmouth Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Falmouth. Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of Leonard & Mignonette (Mapp) Holder. Marjorie was a longtime employee for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with the Division of Unemployment. After retirement, she worked for the Council on Aging. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by one niece, two nephews, three great-nieces, four great-nephews and a very dear close friend, Delores Simmons. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, (Route 58), Carver, on Friday, January 31, 2014, from 4:00-8:00 PM. Her funeral service will be held at the Christ Church Parish, 149 Court Street, Plymouth, on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 1:00 PM. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
