Obituary of Barbara M. Blanton

Barbara M. (Mercer) Blanton, age 91, of Duxbury, formerly of Newton, died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Bay Path Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Duxbury. She was the beloved wife of Elmore Blanton for 64 years; devoted mother of Allison Parsons & her husband Lee, Robert Blanton & his wife Susan and William Blanton; loving grandmother of eight and dear sister of Virginia Swetnam. A visitation period will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Friday, April 18, 2014, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 NOON, followed by a prayer service at 12:00 NOON. Interment will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Bennington Boulevard, Bourne at 1:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to the Tremont Temple Baptist Church in Boston, MA.
