Obituary of Carol Neary

Carol (Mohl) Neary, age 85, of Plympton, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, surrounded by all who loved her, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. Born on April 8, 1929, in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of the late Carl & Mathilda (Roediger) Mohl. Carol lived in many places throughout her life, but settled in Boston in 1970. There she worked for Filene's, where she met her soon to be husband, William. She later worked for the law firm of Burns and Levinson in Boston, as their receptionist. She was remembered by a colleague there as a lovely and dignified presence and literally the face of the firm at the reception desk for generations. Her best friend was her deceased sister, Mary Ronning, whom she talked with almost every day. She loved having coffee with her other two best friends, Joan Neary and Joyce Paluda. Carol is survived by her loving husband, William Neary; her brother, Carl Mohl & his wife Marie; her children, Cheryl Souza & her husband John, John Holmes & his wife Carol, Kim Clayson & her husband Chris; her wonderful and loving step-children, Amy (Neary) Townsend & her husband Jon, William Neary & his wife Donna, Shawn Neary & his wife Kim and Russ Neary & his wife Mary Ellen; her grandchildren, Brooke Townsend & her husband Sean Corcoran, Travis Townsend & his wife Angela, Alexander Neary, Kyle Clayson, David and Dakota Neary, Nicole Souza, Sara, Amy and Mya Neary, Ava and Lucas Holmes; her four great-grandchildren, Mercedes and Anthony Townsend and Brayden and Brooklyn Neary as well as many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Monday, March 23, 2015, from 3:00-7:00 PM. Her Funeral service will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at 10:00 AM. Interment services will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Bennington Boulevard, Bourne, at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carol's memory may be made to the Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
