Obituary of Diane L. DelVecchio

Diane L. (Abbondanzio) DelVecchio, age 63, passed away on Thursday April 9, 2015, after a long, hard battle with cancer, surrounded by her family at the DelVecchio home in Kingston, MA.
Diane was born on October 13, 1951 in Brighton, MA. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Leona Abbondanzio and attended Braintree High School, where she graduated in 1969. Diane was first and foremost a devoted mother, an avid Red Sox fan, and also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and cooking. Her most cherished moments were watching her family enjoy the meals she prepared. Diane was a legal assistant for several years.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Robert, and three children; Derek DelVecchio and his wife Kim of Braintree, Nicole DelVecchio of Boston, and Ryan DelVecchio and his wife Brielle of Beverly. Diane was the loving grandmother of four grandchildren; Cory, Michael, Riley, and Andrew. Devoted sister of four siblings; Robert Abbondanzio of Putney, VT, Frank Abbondanzio of Millers Falls, MA, Kathy DiBona of Weymouth, MA, and Sheila Watson of Holbrook, MA, as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Norwell VNA Hospice for their great care.
Relatives and friends are welcome to gather for visitation at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
Funeral services at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 9:00 AM, followed by her funeral Mass at Saint Joseph's Church, 272 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, Green Street, Kingston.
Donations in Diane’s name may be made to the National Audubon Society.
