Obituary of Lauren A. Gettemy
Please share a memory of Lauren to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lauren Amanda Gettemy, 38, of Plympton passed away suddenly on June 11, 2015, and is now resting in the Lord’s loving presence. Beloved daughter of Russell and Susan Gettemy of Plympton.
She is survived by her daughters; Laurielle Conte, Kathryn Hallisey, and Maeghan Hallisey.
She also leaves behind brothers James Gettemy and his wife Robyn, currently residing in New Hampshire; David Gettemy and his wife Sheila, and Jeffrey Gettemy, as well as her loving grandmother Doris Jordan. She is granddaughter to the late Francis and Cora Gettemy of Weymouth, and the late Louis Jordan of Pembroke. She also leaves behind many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and many, many dear friends.
Lauren attended Silver Lake High School. She loved all kinds of outdoor activities, including horse-back riding (for which she won awards). She also played ice hockey (defense) all through school for Pembroke Youth Hockey until she reached high school age. Lauren has also enjoyed sky diving, hiking, and white water rafting. Her favorite hobby was landscaping with flowers. She landscaped her parent’s grounds and left a beautiful display of flowers and shrubs for them to enjoy for many years to come. She has helped out many people in need over the years; willing to give of her time always. She is a beautiful person and will be sorely missed!
We are comforted by knowing that Lauren was saved by the precious blood of Jesus Christ and is now at peace with her Lord and Savior.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 16th, from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (rt. 106) Kingston. A funeral service will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 17th at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at the Hillcrest cemetery in Plympton. In lieu off flowers donations may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
