Obituary of Christine J. Harrington

Christine J. (McAdams) Harrington, 93, of Carver, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2015.
Christine was the daughter of Herbert M. McAdams and Gertrude M. (Davis) McAdams and the wife of the late Cornelius ”Neil” J. Harrington Jr.
Christine was raised and attended school in the town of Falmouth. She made her home in Carver where she was active in town matters, was a founding member of the Carver Garden Club and worked for the Carver Schools. She was also employed as a bookkeeper for Hiller Cranberry Co. for a number of years.
Christine is survived by her sons Christopher, Curtis, and his wife Kathy, grandchildren Joshua, Jacob, Kate and John, and great grandchildren Connor and Avery.
She was the loving sister of Marion Beauregard, the late Mary Dowd, and the late Kathleen “Kippy” McAdams, Margaret “Peggy” Duffany, Mildred “Judy” Betts, the late Charles “Chuck” McAdams, and Herbert McAdams and his wife Rosemarie. She was the loving sister-in-law of Barbara and JosephHarrington, Arthur “Butch” Harrington and Katherine and Kevin Lynch.
She was Aunt Chris to many nieces and nephews who will remember most the banana splits she would serve during their visits.
She was the caring “Ma” to Ronald Lopes, Carol Lopes Morris and Ann Donelan.
Christine had many hobbies and interests in her life which included gardening, bowling, basketball, bingo, cards, and dance. She was an incredibly avid reader to the very end, often completing a book in a day’s time. She loved travel and resided in Hawaii and Japan during Neil’s career as a US Navy officer.
All will remember Christine as having a kind heart, a lending ear, a brilliant sense of humor and a gentleand forgiving soul.
The family would like to give special thanks to the medical, nursing, caregivers, and facility staff at the Colony House of Abington where Christine resided in her final years. Their skill, caring and kindness towards Christine and her family could only be described as exceptional.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 13th at 11:15AM at the MA National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne MA. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the cemetery at 11:00 AM
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Christine’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
