Obituary of Leslie C. Damon

Leslie C. Damon, 79, passed away on October 23, 2015. Born August 10, 1936 to Dorothy (Derby) Damon and H. Carleton Damon of Rockland. Graduate of Thayer Academy and Stockbridge/UMASS Amherst. Leslie lived in Pembroke for 50 years. He belonged to Masons for over 50 years and was a member and past president of the Pembroke Lions Club. He served the town as Wiring Inspector and Assistant Wiring Inspector and was active in many town activities. Leslie was devoted to the First Church in Pembroke and at the time of his death, was serving on the Board of Trustees and was one of the head ushers. He enjoyed spending summers at his cottage on Saquish Beach and skiing in the winter with his family and friends. He loved working in his gardens. He was a master electrician and after graduating from college, he worked with his father at Damon Electric Company. After his father retired in 1979 he ran the company alone. He worked up until the time his illness forced him to retire. Leslie is survived by his wife Sandra (Hammond) Damon and his sons Scott C. Damon of Plymouth and Stephen H. Damon of Pembroke. He also leaves his grandson Kyle D. Geder of Hoboken, New Jersey and his grand daughter Madison T. Damon of Pembroke, his sister-in-law Beatrice Duven and his nieces Jennifer Duven and Melissa Adelman of Scottsdale, Arizona and his nephews Michael J. Stoddard of Orland, Maine and James W. Honahan of Walpole. Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St. Pembroke on Thursday, October 29 from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
