Obituary of Jane E. Gallagher

Jane E. (Dempsey) Gallagher, age 79, of Carver, died on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at the Morton Hospital in Taunton. Born in Middleborough, she was the daughter of the late Daniel H. & Orrie A. (Shurtleff) Dempsey. For many years, Jane worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired as an Assistant Postmaster. Jane was the beloved wife of the late Edward M. Gallagher; devoted mother of Deborah Eacrett of Tyngsborough, Peter Bither of Mattapoisett and Gretchen O'Donnell of Mattapoisett; loving grandmother of six, great-grandmother of eight and dear sister of Gordon Dempsey of California and Marjorie Mosher of Plymouth. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, (Route 58), Carver, on Friday, December 18, 2015, from 4:00-7:30 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 7:30 PM. Interment services will be private and at a later date.
