Obituary of Grace Louise Hirst

Grace Louise (Lantz) Hirst, of Duxbury, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, after a lengthy illness.
Grace was born in Troy, NY, in January, 1939, the daughter of the late Robert T. Lantz and Constance Northup. She was a graduate of Duxbury High School and lived in Duxbury for most of her life. She leaves her husband, Warren, to whom she was married for 53 years; her daughters, Shari Hayes and her husband Michael of Yarmouth Port and Laurel Borsari and her husband Daniel of Halifax; as well as her grandsons, Justin, Evan, Tyler and Cameron Hayes and Joshua Borsari and his wife Erin, Benjamin Borsari and his wife Lauren and three great-grandchildren. Grace also leaves brothers, Richard Lantz of Manchester, NH and David Lantz and his wife Rosalie of Phoenix, AZ. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Lantz.
Throughout her life, Grace lovingly cared for her family, especially enjoying her grandsons and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, and traveling. Hawaii was a favorite destination. She enjoyed watching sports and was a life-long Red Sox fan. She taught Sunday School classes for many years and enjoyed attending church.
Visiting hours will be held at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held at The First Baptist Church of Duxbury, 2 Tremont Street, Duxbury, on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at 10:00 AM.
Burial will follow at the Mayflower Cemetery, 774 Tremont Street, Duxbury.
In honor of Graces’ memory and in recognition of the medical care provided over many years, donations may be made to Boston Medical Center, c/o Development Office, 801 Massachusetts Avenue, 1st Floor, Boston, MA 02118.
