Obituary of Katherine A. Murphy

Katherine "Katie" A. Murphy, age 38, of Taunton, formerly of Carver, died on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at her home. Katie was born in South Weymouth, the daughter of Peter F. Murphy and Deborah A. (Burgess) Murphy. She worked as a teacher in the daycare industry. Katie was the beloved mother of Jacob Gorman-Murphy and Kristy Gorman-Murphy, both of Canton; loving daughter of Peter Murphy & his wife Martha of Plymouth and Deborah Murphy of Kingston; devoted sister of Peter Murphy, Jr. of Shirley and Kaileigh Murphy of Plymouth; cherished granddaughter of Joseph & Helen Murphy of Dedham and the late George & Anne Burgess. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, a nephew, a niece, cousins, friends and Daniel Gorman of Canton. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, (Route 58), Carver, on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, from 3:00-8:00 PM. Family and friends are welcome to gather at Saint Bonaventure Parish, 799 State Road, Manomet, on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at 9:50 AM, with Katie's funeral Mass starting at 10:00 AM.
