Obituary of Robert Whalen

Robert Whalen, 29, passed away while surrounded by his brothers, parents and fiancé, on October 11, 2016. Robert is survived by his fiancé, Rachael Fitzgerald of Scituate. He is the loving son of Patrick J. and Peggy Whalen of Duxbury. He is also survived by his brothers Joseph, Patrick and Kevin Whalen also of Duxbury. Robert is also survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Robert was born in Randolph but grew up in Duxbury. He never let his illness stop him from enjoying life. He loved watching sunsets, writing poems and inspirational quotes, longboarding, snowboarding, being at the beach. He also loved music and cars. He lived life to the fullest and his spirit will be forever honored by the love he created. Visiting Hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. Kingston (Rt.106) on Sunday, October 16, from 2:00 to 6:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 17, at Holy Family Church in Duxbury at 10:00AM. Internment will follow at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's name can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
