Robert F. Lynch, “Pipes”, 76, of Middleboro, formerly of Halifax, passed away on December 12, 2016. Bob was born February 6, 1940 in Dorchester, and is the only child of the late Frank and Alice Lynch. He grew up in Boston’s Back Bay from 1940 - 1955. He attended Martin Mill Moore school. Bob delivered the Record American newspaper while growing up in Boston. He moved to Halifax in 1955, and graduated from Silver Lake High school in 1958, and was a member of the schools' first football team. Bob was a Line Haul truck driver, and worked for Quinn Freight for 22 years, as well as many other truck companies on the South Shore. He was a longtime member of the teamsters, Local 653, of Brockton. He was a lifetime member of the Tie Rods car club, Moose Lodge, Elks Eagles, and Hilltop Sportsman Club. Bob was well known for 1957 Thunderbird that he bought in 1961.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 15th at 11:00 AM, at Central cemetery in Halifax.
