Robert G. Cornell, formerly of Duxbury and Plympton, passed away, surrounded by family, on Monday February 20, 2017 after a long and hard fought battle with Alzheimer ’s disease.
Bob was born on December 24, 1933 in Wellesley, MA. He was the son of the late Hazel Thomas and Franklin Benjamin Cornell both from Maine. He was the brother of David T. Cornell and wife JoAnn. He was the devoted husband of Dale Johnson for 30 years and the loving father of Karen White and husband Greg, Nancy Mussi and Stephen Cornell.
In the early 70’s Bob founded Cornell Concepts Corporation where he designed and produced unique molded plastic products for the Premium and Promotional Product industries. He was highly regarded and recognized for his innovations and the originality and creativity of his work.
Bob had many life-long passions and extraordinary talents especially when it came to architecture. As a hobby, Bob designed and built over 40 homes and renovated many others. He was a natural-born musician and played any instrument he touched. He was also an avid outdoorsman.
In addition to his wife, children and brother, Bob is survived by 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was also the loving grandfather to the late Sally Casandra White.
A Memorial Service will be held in Bob’s honor on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 am at the church Bob and Dale were married, St. John’s The Evangelist Episcopal Church, 410 Washington Street, Duxbury, MA. 02332.
