Carol Patricia Breslin Powers, 69, passed away peacefully with her family around her on March 7th, 2017, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth after a fierce battle with cancer. Carol was the cherished mother of Michelle Bednarczyk and her husband Dan (of Charlestown), Danielle Lane and her husband Paul (of Pembroke), Ray Powers (of Quincy), Tom Powers and his wife Amanda (of Woburn), and Matt Powers and his fiancé Sarah (of Boston); loving grandmother to Sydney Lane, Bennett Powers, and Spencer Powers; and caring sister of Greg Breslin (of Charlestown), Mark Breslin and his wife Bonnie (of Milton), and Matt Breslin and his wife Sandra (of Stoughton). She is also survived by her beloved lifelong companion Bill and his loving and caring son Bill Jr, a loving extended family, and many loyal friends. She is predeceased by her mother Joan, father Walter, and sister Christine. She dedicated her life to her children and was extremely proud of their character and accomplishments of which she was the driving force. She will be fondly remembered for her witty and cunning sense of humor in all situations as well as her love of all creatures great and small. The visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 12th, from 2-6:00PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St. (Rte. 14), Pembroke. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St., Hanson, on Monday, March 13th at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at the Center Cemetery in Pembroke. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org.
