Elizabeth & I met in 1st grade at Abigail Adams School in Weymouth where we attended through 6th grade. She was smart, an A student, athletic and liked by everyone.
Years later, as adults, we reconnected after running into each other at the Hanover Mall and realizing we were both soon to be "older" moms with our 1st child, both sons and both in breach position. (Many conversations, research and strategies pursued. Ben was much more cooperative than Robert! Through the years, we shared thoughts on parenting, education, raising sons; days at the park; interest in crafts - sewing, beading, knitting.
Elizabeth was a wonderful mom who loved her children, Ben and Hayley, and was always concerned for their well being. She was talented, creative and resourceful. Elizabeth was kind, thoughtful and caring. She made me a couple pairs of dangling beaded earrings. I have always worn them for fun occasions with thoughts of her in mind.
In the fall of 2015, she came to visit me in VA so that she could attend the United to Face Addiction Concert and events in DC. We had such a wonderful time together, sharing our perspective on the past, present and future. We had some revelations. It was such a sweet time of friendship. When she left, she thanked me with hand knitted socks for my husband and myself. They are the most comfortable socks I've ever worn.
I am so sorry that Elizabeth was unable to win her battle with addiction. Please accept my deepest condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you, during this difficult time. My prayer is that the memories that you shared with Elizabeth will comfort you and give you peace.
Elizabeth is gone but surely not forgotten. She will be missed.
