Obituary of Larry Lee Oppel

Larry Lee Oppel, 69 year old musician, story teller and great human being left this earth on June 8, 2017. Larry died in his own home with his loving wife Barbara at his side. Born in 1948, in Duluth Minnesota , the son of the late Frank Oppel of Duluth, Minnesota and the late Elaine Peterson Oppel of Las Vegas, Nevada. Devoted husband, snuggle buddy, best friend, soul mate, and cohort to Barbara (Coughlin) Oppel of Kingston, MA. Beloved father and best friend to Christian James Oppel and his wife Tenne (Deon) Oppel of NYC and Dylan Tyler Oppel and s/o Angela Menn of Framingham , MA. Ever loving dad to Donna Barry-Varney of Golden, Colorado. Loving grandfather to Clementine Oppel of NYC. Dear brother of the late Sherri (Sheshe) Oppel of Las Vegas, Nevada and brother in law to Bradley, Jeanne and Warren Coughlin. Life long "brother from another mother" to brother Garry Gilbert of Minnesota. Fantastic, fun and cheerful godfather to Lindsay and Meghan Bard. Loving uncle to Lisa Garrett of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kelly Coughlin Hogan, Eric Alan Coughlin, Brendan Cherkos, Ashley and Jarryd Coughlin, Morgan Sage Coughlin and Shane Alan Jewell. Larry was a modern day cowboy, consummate showman and genuine person. Retired driver and dispatcher for Tommy's Taxi in Framingham, MA, Long Haul Truck Driver and someone you were lucky to have known. The family hopes to hold a memorial celebration of life, to be planned in the near future.
