Roberta A. Murphy (Bobbie), age 78, of Carver formerly of Dorchester, departed this life peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at Beth Israel Deaconess of Plymouth on October 15, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Jeffrey R. Murphy of Carver. Born in Boston October 23, 1938, Roberta was the daughter of the late Frederick and Gertrude (Foley) White. Roberta worked at Shawmut Bank untill her marriage to Jeffrey on April 27, 1963; she also worked at Rich’s Department Store Plymouth / Middleborough for over 20 years. She was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Carver, teaching CCD, Eucharist minster, and organizing bingo. She would say the rosary daily at 6pm. Roberta always enjoyed a trip to the casino especially Foxwoods. Roberta was the devoted mother to nine children, Donald Murphy of Fairhaven, Thomas Murphy of Carver, Noreen Obin of Wareham, Jeffrey R. Murphy Jr of Carver, Roberta Leaden and her husband Thomas of Plymouth, Stephen Murphy and his wife Michelle of Carver, Frederick Murphy of Carver, Andrew Murphy of Carver and the late Michael Murphy and his wife Kimberly of Plymouth. Sister of Frank White of Quincy, Claire White of South Boston, Charlene Mickevich of Carver and the late Mary Anglin of South Boston. Roberta just simply adored spending time with her 13 grandchildren and her 2 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will take place on Friday October 20, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Shepherd Funeral Home 116 Main St. (Rt. 58) Carver. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday October 21, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes, 130 Main St., Carver at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Union Cemetery in Carver.
