Mary Rita (Powers) Davis, 101, died peacefully on November 30, 2017, at Newfield house, in Plymouth, MA. She is survived by her son Thomas Davis and his wife Ellen of West Roxbury, MA, her daughter Sheila Zelinski and her husband Albert of Plympton, MA, her son Evan Davis and his wife Sandra of Rockville, MD and her son Glenn Davis and his wife Lois of Plymouth, MA. Mary is preceded in death by her husband George Joseph Davis. Mary was born in Gardner, MA on September 8, 1916, daughter of Hugh P. and Elizabeth (Connors) Powers. She is preceded in death by her two sisters, Elizabeth Donaher, Lucy DeLisle and her brother Thomas. Mary worked in the office of Heywood Wakefield where she met George. They married on April 15, 1939. They moved to Brockton, MA where they Raised their family. They later built a home in Plympton, Where they eventually retired. She leaves eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St. Carver, MA on Sunday, December 3, from 2:00 to 5:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 4, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Carver at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Kingston.
