Obituary of Charles W. Hird

Charles Hird, a longtime resident of Duxbury died on January 15, 2008. He was 89 years old. Mr. Hird was born in Rockport, Massachusetts, and raised and educated in Kingston. He is a graduate of Kingston High School’s class of 1936. Following his graduation from high school Mr. Hird served in the United States Navy during World War II. After his discharge from the Navy, he worked as a pattern maker at the Charlestown Shipyard. He retired from the Navy in 1975. Mr. Hird and his wife Audrey have lived in Duxbury for the past 56 years. Mr. Hird is the loving Husband of Audrey (Fagen) Hird of Duxbury. Beloved Father of Linda and her Husband Dennis Volpe of Brockton, and Lori and her Husband Peter Kim of Wocester. Son of the late Frederick and Helen Hird. Brother of the late Frederick A Hird. Grandfather of Beth Volpe of New Mexico, Daniel Volpe of Brockton, and Kevin Volpe of Brockton. Services will be private.
