Joseph F. Volpe, of Carver died on April 1, 2008 while surrounded by his loving family. At 84 years old he had lived his life to the fullest. Mr. Volpe is a proud veteran of the Pacific Theater of World War II, and was part of the occupation forces in Japan. He belonged to many organizations, including the American Legion. He loved to be with his family, loved food, and loved traveling.
Mr. Volpe is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marion (Simmons) Volpe. Father of Dennis Volpe and daughter in law Sandy of Wilmington, Karyn Falce and son in law Paul of Middleboro, and Kevin Volpe and daughter in law Paula of Ponce Inlet, Florida. Mr. Volpe was “Grampa” to Keith Falce and his wife Jenifer of E. Bridgewater, Marissa Volpe of Maidenhead, England, and Jenna Lesko and her husband Bob of Lowell. He was “Great Grampa” to Emma and Dylan Falce. Brother of John Volpe of Rochester, NH, Mildred Sawyer of Foster, RI,Adeline Lessard of Brockton, and the late Norma Volpe. Mr. Volpe is also survived by many Nieces, Nephews, Brother and Sister in laws, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 8th at 10:00 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (Rt. 58) Carver. Burial will be at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Disabled American Veterans P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
