Obituary of Edward R. Birchmore

Edward R. Birchmore, teacher, author, and lecturer, passed away suddenly on January 29, 2009. Born in Weymouth and raised in Pembroke, Edward graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1969. He graduated class of 1973 at Bridgewater State College. In 1974 Mr. E.R. Birchmore began his teaching career at Silver Lake Regional High School. He attended the Yeasts International School in Sligo, Ireland in 1975, and in 1977 Edward was elected a member of Silver Lake Regional school. Edward was best known for his published works on the Rapture in Bible Prophecy, the History of Salem MA, pertaining to the events of 1692. His later works were in the literature of H.P. Lovecraft, and Edgar Allen Poe. Ed lived his life with passionate abandonment, and will be deeply missed by all those that knew him.
He is the son of the late E.F. Birchmore and Mary D. Birchmore of Pembroke. He is survived by his wife Katherine (Cowan) Birchmore of 30 years. A sister Rosemary Newan of Braintree, and 2 cousins.
