I can say without reservation that Mrs. Chase was the most memorable of all of my teachers - that includes high school and two college degrees.
Like the other condolences above, I had the opportunity to know Mrs. Chase after she was my fifth grade teacher. I found her to be a very special woman with a great heart and tremendous sense of humor (something that she would never had revealed to us as our teacher).
As testimony to her influence upon me, and I suppose to most of her students, I have checked, rechecked, checked again and re-rechecked my spelling and grammar before hitting the submit key.
Godspeed to you, Beatrice.

I was a colleague of Bea's at the Chandler School in the 1970's. I, and many others, thought she was the finest teacher we had ever known. I am sorry for her passing, but happy that I knew her.
We also shared a love of golf.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Chase's passing. She was a good person and a wonderful teacher, who truly cared about her students. My two sisters and I were in Mrs. Chase's classes in elementary school and, while she ran a very "tight ship," we all learned so much from her. And, as my Dad was her dentist, and my Mom a homeroom mother, the whole family knew her well. Please accept the heartfelt condolences of the Turner family.

My sympathy to the Chase family.
Mrs. Chase was one of the best teachers I ever had. She was tough and fair, and expected a lot from her students.
As an adult, I saw another side of Mrs. Chase: her sense of humor and kindness.
How wonderful she had such a long, full life!
