Alfred L. Watson age 85 of Pembroke, died peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on March 23, 2010. He was Son of the late Alfred and Pearl Watson. Alfred was born on July 13, 1924 in Louisville, Kentucky and raised in Philadelphia. Alfred was proud veteran of WWll serving on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Bataan (CLV-29). During his long Naval career he went on to serve during the Korean and Vietnam wars before retiring in 1971. After just 2 days retirement from the Navy, he went on to work for John Hancock in Boston as a Security Officer until he retired several years later.
He was an avid reader, gardener and loved spending time with his family and friends. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years Mary (Steele) Watson, his cherished children Patricia Hayes and her husband John of Marshfield, Alfred Watson and his wife Carol of New Bedford and Stephen Watson of Pembroke.
He leaves a sister Evelyn Williamson of Florida and his brother Allen Watson of Colorado. Brother of the late Catherine Harkins and Roy Stoner.
He was a very proud grandfather to Kate Hayes-Huer of Marshfield and Eric, Gregory and Daniel Watson of Taunton.
