John T. Fanton, of Kingston, died unexpectedly, Thursday, June 3, 2010.
Beloved husband of Mary (Marie) E. Fanton of Kingston, dear father of John T. Fanton and his wife Cheryl of Attleboro, Joel M. Fanton of Plympton, and the late Christopher S. Fanton. Devoted grandfather of Michael J. Fanton of Attleboro. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
John was born in Baltimore, Maryland, loving son of the late George R. and Kathleen A. Fanton. He served in the Navy for 12 years including during World War II. He was one of 7 children, all of whom predeceased him, and enjoyed visiting his many relatives in Maryland.
He retired from Polaroid Corporation in 1987 and had lived in Kingston for the past 49 years. In his retirement he had worked at Independence Mall in Kingston and enjoyed having yard sales and meeting the many people who would stop by. He was well loved by all and will be sorely missed by family and friends.
