I can't be at Anne's memorial mass tomorrow but I wanted to say a few things to at least a few of the people who knew her. I bought the cottage at 10 Gurnet Road in May 1997 hoping to someday retire there. I immediately saw that the already retired people next door had quite a lifestyle carved out in such a beautiful place. Every evening as sunset approached John and Mary and Anne would have cocktail hour/s on their deck with much laughing and merriment. Wow was I envious. Anne would only have to walk 50' from her house on the edge of the marsh. Two tragedies put this to an end when Mary too early died and Anne's house burned down. But since first meeting Anne I knew her to be quite a character with a love of life and a sparkle in her eye and always fun to talk with. She didn't give up easily whether it was getting back to the golf course or trying to get her license back. She always told me about her many nieces and nephews. She (and Mary) was part of the care giving team for my mother (Shirley Webster) and became a part of our family attending many parties and events over the years at Pam and Fred Walsh's house in Duxbury.
