Obituary of Dorothy E. Slade

Dorothy E. Slade, of Carver, died doing what she loved, watching the birds, on July 20, 2010. She was 79 years old. She enjoyed life to the fullest, traveling with her husband while he served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Her family spent time living in Plymouth, Guam, Hawaii, Maryland, Kingston, and finally settled in Carver. She was a member of Good Sams Cape Codders, and she enjoyed running Bingo at South Meadow Village in Carver. She will be sadly missed by all. Beloved wife of the late Robert O. Slade Sr. Loving mother of Sandra Martin and her husband Jeffrey of Plymouth and Robert O. Slade Jr., and his fiancé Rosemarie Butler of Plymouth. Sister of Jeanette and her husband David Priestley of Plymouth, and the late Harrison Burt, James Burt, and Barbara Burt. Cherished grandmother of Tena L. Young, Kellie Brenner, Kasaundra Eddleston, Michele Hart, Raiven M. Slade, Robert O. Slade III, Alexis DeFranc, Carolyn Navarro, John Butler, Timothy Butler, and Michael Butler. Great grandmother of 9. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 22nd from 4-8:00PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, (Rt. 106) Kingston. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 23rd at 12:30 at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Shepherd Funeral at 11:00 AM.
