Robert Howard Wellman, 92, of Kingston, died Nov. 18, 2010 Born in 1918 in Hull, he was the only child of the late Gladys L. (Percival) and Ernest H. Wellman. He graduated from Hingham High School in 1936. Bob was a resident of Braintree for 40 years before moving to Kingston. During World War II he was employed at Fore River Shipyard and was a Sergeant in the Massachusetts State Militia. He worked in the auto industry and was the Purchasing Manager at Ainslie Corp. in Braintree for 30 years. Bob was a member of Old Colony Masonic Lodge in Hingham for 64 years and a member of Taleb Grotto and Pentalpha Royal Arch. A member of Old South Union Church in Weymouth, he was involved in the J.O.Y. Club and First Tuesday group at the church and took special pride in the construction and design of a time capsule for the church which will be opened in the year 2040. He had been a Deacon and a Trustee at Quincy Point Congregational Church for many years. Bob enjoyed skiing, water sports and anything to do with the ocean. He traveled around the world with his wife to 6 of the 7 continents. His lifetime hobby was working in his workshop making furniture for his family and fixing everything that needed fixing. Bob was a true friend and devoted family member, who always looked forward to social gatherings. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Blanche "Bette" Schaller Wellman, his daughters Louise Morrill and her husband Robert of Leesburg, FL, and Debbie Juckett and her husband Mark of Bourne, MA, six grandchildren: Gretchen Kelley, Jennifer Ulland, Wendy Manno, Scott Morrill, Ryan and Steven Juckett and nine great grandchildren: Brendan and Sean Kelley, Kathryn, Jacob, Lauren and Anna Ulland, Drew and Brett Manno and Zooey Morrill. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, Nov. 27 at Old South Union Church in South Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Old South Union Church, 25 Columbian St., South Weymouth, Ma 02190
