Obituary of Tom Pilkington

Tom Pilkington, age 82, of Kingston died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Jordan Hospital after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Tom was born on July 28, 1928 and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He received his education at The University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He proudly served three years in the United States Navy as a lieutenant jg during the Korean War.
Tom was a retired Publisher for Cahners Publishing Company in charge of Purchasing Magazine and later Industrial Distribution Magazine. He was an avid reader, golfer, sailor and artist, who enjoyed painting landscapes and cherished portraits of his grandchildren.
A beloved husband, devoted father and loving grandfather, Tom is survived by his wife Carol of 56 years, his daughter Cynthia Perrone and her husband Mark of Ipswich, his daughter Elizabeth Dondero and her husband Douglas and their three children Jessica, Doug and Mia of Kingston and his son Tom Pilkington and his wife Ingrid and their two children Sterling and Spencer of Plymouth. He is also survived by his brother Bob Pilkington of Louisville, KY. He will be missed greatly by all.
