Michael and I knew Rob from working at Blue Cross Blue Shield. He would always give a smile when passing by him in the building. He'd even come over to your desk to say hi and check up on you. He was always there to lend a hand with what ever you needed. I would run into him outside of work and he was always happy to have a chat. If he was with Pam he was so proud to introduce you to her. He was a friend, a handy man and an all around great man. It will not be the same without him. He will be truly missed.

Robbie was one of my best friends for fifty years. We may not have seen each other as often as other friends but we both knew the other would be there if needed. My heart is broken right now as is his family and other friends. Having known him we all know he wouldn’t want us to be sad but rather to celebrate his life. He touched so many and he will always be a part of who I am. Cheers to my friend and much love to his family.

I am so sorry for the loss of Rob, I met Rob working at BCBSMA about ten years ago, he always had a smile on his face and you couldn't help but start up a conversation with him. Once he knew both my boys played hockey from young ages, we could never pass each other without him asking how my boys were doing or how old they were now and what league they were in? I loved running into Rob and just chatting away, I will truly miss that along with his genuine personality and fun antics. He truly was one of a kind and he will be greatly missed.

Robbie and I played hockey together for over 30 years. He even gave me the shirt off his back (literally) when he added me as his defensive partner. We played defense together all these years. It won’t be the same not seeing Robbie out there chasing people around on the ice, laughing and taunting the “young guys” if he won the battle in the corner and telling people to hustle or get off the ice. He was the guy that kept the Thurs night hour going so everyone could keep skating ( even though we probably should have given it up). It was all about a night out, fun, sharing laughs in the locker room and having a cold beer after a good skate. Most important we all got a trophy every year - our official “Thurs Night 10/10” tee shirt we wear proudly. I would tell Robbie how lucky and blessed he was to have his kids living close by and having Robby, Johnny, James and even Travis out on the ice with him. He would just laugh and agree. He was blessed in the short time he was with us and will be missed.

Pam and Family - I find myself sharing this with too many people... It helped my family a great deal and still does. Your husband, Dad, Papa was one of a kind.
The Oak Tree-by Johnny Ray Ryder Jr
A mighty wind blew night and day It stole the oak tree's leaves away
Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark Until the oak was tired and stark
But still the oak tree held its ground While other trees fell all around
The weary wind gave up and spoke. How can you still be standing Oak?
The oak tree said, I know that you Can break each branch of mine in two
Carry every leaf away. Shake my limbs, and make me sway
But I have roots stretched in the earth Growing stronger since my birth
You'll never touch them, for you see ~They are the deepest part of me ~
Until today, I wasn't sure Of just how much I could endure
But now I've found, with thanks to you ~I'm stronger than I ever knew....

Rob,
you will be missed my friend, you always had a smile on your face, especially when you would bust my chops, I think I will miss that most of all...
Until the next time we meet, rest easy,
Mike
