Obituary of Lee P. Alfieri

Lee Paul Alfieri, 71, of Plymouth, Mass., died on Monday, September 17th after a short illness. Son of the late Mario and Mildred Alfieri, he is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Janet Alfieri (Walsh), his children Erin Maya Alfieri and Jesse Lee Alfieri, his sister Paula Anthrop and husband Walt, his brother, Carl Alfieri and wife Annie, and nieces and nephews, Carrie Tiani, Nicholas Anthrop, Eric Anthrop, and Jackie Brooks.

Lee grew up in Kingston and graduated from Silver Lake High School and then from Tufts University in Medford.  He spent most of the 70s in Maine where he, his wife, and his friend Peter Hall of Pembroke built a house and barn on a 100-acre plot of land in South Carthage. There he worked as a carpenter and wood cutter, raised chickens, goats, and pigs, and planted huge vegetable gardens. He returned to Kingston to attend Suffolk Law School from which he received his Juris Doctorate. He took over his father’s law practice in 1981 and worked as a sole practitioner in Plymouth for over 35 years. He also served on the Kingston Zoning Board of Appeals during the 80s.  In the early 90s he moved from Kingston to the shores of Billington Sea in Plymouth.

He loved Maine, building stone walls, listening to music, playing and watching basketball, his family, Italy, and growing vegetables – not necessarily in that order.
