Obituary of Janet Ann Neely

Janet Ann (Crotty) Neely of South Meadow Village Carver, MA died suddenly on October 1, 2018. Daughter of the late Matthew J. and Jeanette A. Crotty, Janet was born on August 22, 1944 in Manhattan, New York. Shortly after, Janet and her parents moved to Quincy, Massachusetts where Janet was raised and educated graduating from North Quincy High School Class of 1962.

After high school, Janet married, moved to Abington, MA and welcomed two sons into her family, Michael and Timothy Jonah. Janet later moved to nearby Rockland and as a single mother, raised Michael and Timothy until both graduated from high school.

In 1989, Janet married James H. Neely residing in Hanson, MA until 1995 when they moved to her beloved South Meadow Village. Janet and Jim made many friends and memories together in South Meadow Village until Jim’s passing in 2003. In 2005, Janet met and enjoyed the companionship with Roger Campion. Janet and Roger enjoyed spending time together, taking many day trips, and attending various activities that South Meadow Village sponsored. Janet also served on the Board of Directors for South Meadow Village and worked the polls for the Town of Carver.

Janet was predeceased by her husband James H. Neely, devoted Mother to Michael D. Jonah and his companion Melissa Curtis of Whitman, MA and Timothy J. Jonah and his wife Ann Marie of North Quincy, MA, sister to Elizabeth Fox of Braintree, MA, grandmother to Ashley Manning of Raynham, MA, Kaitlyn O’Driscoll of Cape Cod, MA, Tyler Jonah of Dighton, MA, Matthew, Rebecca, Megan, Brendan and Timothy James Jonah all of North Quincy, MA, great-grandmother to Camden Torres of Raynham, MA, Aunt to Robert and Christina Cipollone of Braintree, MA.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 9th from 8:30-10:00 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (Rt. 58) Carver.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes in Carver. Graveside services will follow at the Central cemetery in Carver.
