I am related to Alixe Gordin through my great grandpa maurice gilbert, goldberg or goulash. So she was my cousin. The few conversations I had with her she reminded me a lot of grandma tillie.
If any one has photos or stories I would love to hear them! I do a lot of Ancestry. I knew a few things of her. I would love to hear about her passions ect....

Dear Alixe was my first cousin and my very close friend.I spoke to her just about every week. Our conversations were so interesting and we talked for many minutes- sometimes hours. I learned so much about the theater from Alixe. As the end came near, she was just too tired to talk
Alixe had a long and very successful life. I was so proud to say that she was my cousin- our Mothers were sisters. She adored my Mother.
I loved Alixe dearly and will surely miss her and her beautiful voice, .

I remember when Aunt Alixe came to stay with us in our old house on Brumbaugh Blvd. in Dayton. I had to give up my bedroom for her so I was a little upset. My Mom fixed her up with a family friend (Dick Shaman I think) and they went out on a date. They didn't really get along. It was not until years later that I learned why. When I went to NYC in 1965 I called her to get together but she was too busy then. And I was only 15 and there for the World's Fair on my way to YMCA camp in Belgium.

I will be forever grateful for the talks and times I had with Alixe - she helped me become the woman I am today. I will cherish her in my heart forever. It is my sincere hope that she is reunited with Dr. Jag and at peace at last.

I was very sorry to hear that Alixe Gordin has passed away. Ms. Gordin was an extraordinary woman, and I will miss her. I am a biographer and Professor at the University of Redlands, and in 2016, Alixe allowed me to visit and interview her for my work on a book about Louise Fitzhugh. Over our several hours of conversation I came to know Alixe as a most remarkable, highly accomplished person who helped many other women succeed. One of her friends told me, “If Alixe recognized something in you, you’d never forget her-- because she’d pick up the phone and find you a job.” Alixe was an honest and ethical person, with a large circle of friends (some of whom called her “Boots” because of her Arizona-style footwear). She loved music, she rescued cats (one cat she allowed to sleep in her bed had kittens on her head, according to Louise), and she still had the first poem she wrote to her own Mother—who was also a formidable woman, and whom Alixe loved dearly. Alixe also loved Louise Fitzhugh very much. She supported and encouraged Louise’s genius as a novelist and painter, and later helped to preserve Louise’s legacy in her conversations with scholars and documentarians. Alixe’s own legacy is assured as a casting director in television during its early years, and in the Golden Age movie industry of the 1960’s and 70’s. She was a generous and powerful woman. My condolences to her family and friends.
