Obituary of Sister Marjorie A. Nickel

Sister Marjorie Ann Nickel, 88 of Kingston, passed away on May 24, 2019.  She was born in Carrick, PA on October 13, 1930, daughter of Frank G. and Collette B. (Gaugler) Nickel, She taught high school and college courses for many years and was the principal of Sacred Heart High School, Kingston in the early 1990’s.

She was very interested in family genealogy and worked diligently to coauthor the Nickel family history. Surviving is her sister, Donna of Winter Park, Florida along with several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Frank and Collette, she was predeceased by her brothers, Frank, Robert, Bernard, Albert and her stepmother, Dorothy Wiefling Nickel.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 31st at Providence House, 363 Bishops Highway, Kingston from 2-5:00 and 6-8 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 1st at 11:00 AM at Providence House.  Interment will be in Our Lady of Divine Providence cemetery, Kingston.  Donations may be made in Sr. Nickel’s memory to the Sisters of Divine Providence, 363 Bishops Highway, Kingston, MAM 02364.
