I just learned of Woody's passing and wanted to send my condolences to the family. As a young radio reporter way back in the 1980s, I quickly came to appreciate his reporting legacy and writing skill, as well as his sense of humor. Although I've been out of journalism for many years he was a truly memorable character and his obituary was an appropriate tribute.
