Mr. Mitchell was an incredible man and my favorite teacher throughout my time in Carver schools. I had him two years in a row and was very disappointed I couldnt somehow continue to learn under him. The man taught me so much about history, learning and life in general, and became my National Honors Society sponsor after he retired, which I felt was the greatest honor I could ever receive from a teacher. He had a similar impact on my brother as well, my family and I will miss him dearly. Please know how much he meant to me and how much of an impact the man had on my life. I will miss him dearly, I wouldn't be who I am today without him. My sincerest condolences go out to your family.

Ron Mitchell was one of the kindest people I've never known. I had the privilege of knowing him since the age of six. He gave without pause or hesitation. He opened his home to me without a second thought and when I needed it most. He never asked for thanks, recognition, or compensation; he just gave because that is who he was at his core. I can truly say that I could not be the man I am today without him. I was too young at the time to realize how much he was giving, but as an adult I can see what a giant of a man he was and it has nothing to do with his stature. Candace, Kate, Sarah, and Chris, I am truly sorry for your loss. No matter how many years pass, I always consider you friends.

I enjoyed working with Ron at CMHS. Ron was a kind and gentle giant in both the classrooms and hallways. Dearest Ron, until we meet again; May the road rise to meet you, and the wind always be at your back. and the rains fall softly on your fields. May God hold you gently in the palm of his hand. Amen. ~Ellen

I only have fond memories of Mr. Mitchell. He truly cared about every student and every student truly cared about him. We all remember his hundreds of illustrations of Snoopy and the gang. And we all will always remember how he taught history and life lessons with a touch of good humor. Mr. Mitchell made a difference to everybody he interacted with. All my love to Mr. Mitchell and his family.

I had the privilege of knowing mr. Mitchell as a student as well as through the friendship that I share with his son. When I look back at our interactions over the years, he always carried himself in the best way. When we were having fun at his house, he would tell jokes and get us cracking up. At school, he would provide the amount of sternness that was needed to corral middle schoolers and actually have them learn. I will always remember him for the true care he showed for his students, as well as for the love he always had for his family. My deepest condolences to everyone that was touched in some way by him, especially his family; I know I will miss him dearly.

So sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I have very fond memories of working in the classroom alongside Ron. He was always so creative and I loved his artistic creations. One of my fondest memories was sitting with Ron and Candy at Trish Winslow's wedding. I often think of Ron especially this time of year as I see all the Charlie Brown Christmas decorations! He will be greatly missed. The town of Carver is so fortunate to have had such a gifted teacher.
