Obituary of Richard A. Grigorenko

Richard Allen Grigorenko, 88, passed away on Saturday March 1,2020 at the Wingate Rehabilitation Center in Kingston. Richard was born in Hartford Connecticut and is one of three siblings. Richard was a loving dedicated family man who was know for his zest of life and curious nature. He had several artistic abilities which were  oil painting, photography, custom carpentry and a beautiful baritone voice that you could listen to him sing for hours. Richard enjoyed traveling and spending the summer months boating with his family. He attended Arizona State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree and further his education at MIT University where he earned his Masters Degree. Richard worked for Polaroid Corporation for 30 years as a Engineer of tool and design. He served in the US Air Force from 1951-1954 where he received an honorable discharge and was stationed in East Kirkby England. This is were Richard met and married his beautiful wife Sylvia Briggs Grigorenko. They were married for 65 years. After their marriage in England they moved to the US where Richard was from and set up their home. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Grigorenko who resides in Plympton, MA. He has five children: Judith Grigorenko, Stephen Grigorenko and his wife Stephanie Grigorenko, Catherine Kieran, Paul Grigorenko and his wife Christine Grigorenko, and Mark Grigorenko. A grandfather of six grandchildren; Stephen Grigorenko Jr., Georgette Grigorenko, Paul Grigorenko Jr., Jennifer Grigorenko, Sarah Kieran, and Nicholas Grigorenko. A Great Grandfather of 6; Christina Singleton, Mya Singleton, Kaylee Singleton, Catt Grigorenko, Dominic Grigorenko, and Joseph Grigorenko. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday March 7,2020 at 1:00 PM at the Mayflower Church, 207 Main Street, Kingston, MA. A Coalition will follow the service and held in the Briggs building directly behind the church. We welcome family and friends to attend. Richard will be given a Military Burial on Monday March 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery located in Bourne.   Flowers may be sent to Mayflower Church or if you wish to make a donation you may do so to: Mayflower Church to the Deacons Fund.
