Obituary of Muriel J. MacDonald

Muriel J MacDonald passed away peacefully on May 6, 2020 at the age of 91 due to complications related to the COVID-19 virus. Muriel was born on February 16, 1929 in Cambridge, MA, to Herbert M W Brigham and Maude L McCurda. She graduated from Belmont High School and attended Eastern Nazarene College, where she met her husband, Robert (Bob) MacDonald Sr. The two were married on October 27, 1951 at Cambridge Nazarene Church. Together they had three children, Robert Jr., Bonnie and Sandra and were long-time residents of Duxbury, MA. Muriel stayed home with her children as well as worked part time in the Duxbury School System. In later years, she drove many elderly residents of Duxbury around town in the “Duxbury Senior Bus”. Muriel in her younger years had fond memories of summering in Damariscotta Mills, Maine. She also loved swimming and playing her organ as well as spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Muriel’s sense of humor and positive attitude always brought a smile to those around her. She spent her final years at Lifecare Center of Plymouth, where she made many new friends. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. 
Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert M. W. Brigham and Maude L. McCurda, husband Robert MacDonald Sr., brothers Elmer and Herbert Brigham, and sisters Mae McNeil, Helen Hawthorne, Ruth Kelly, and Myrtle Brigham. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Johnson of Maine, children, Robert M. MacDonald Jr. of Weymouth, Bonnie J. Potts of Narragansett RI, and Sandra Mackin of Duxbury, her grandchildren, Robert J. MacDonald, Christina Leet, Kerri Babbitt, Corey Mackin, Eric Babbitt, Alyssa Mackin, and Lindsea Mackin, and great-grandchildren, Noah and Duncan MacDonald, and Addyson and Evan Leet. 
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be a private funeral service for immediate family at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury.
