Obituary of Barbara A. (Tripp) Bates

Barbara A. (Tripp) Bates, of Middleboro, passed away on May 27, 2020. She was 86. She was the loving wife of Elmer Bates. They would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on June 30th. Barbara was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bernice (Shaw) Tripp. She was proceeded in death by her brothers George and Richard Tripp. Barbara was born and raised in Middleboro. She got her teaching degree at Bridgewater State College. Barbara went on to teach in Middleboro for 23 years. She taught at the Flora M. Clark, West Side, and Burkland schools. Barbara and Elmer were devout Christians. Besides her husband, Barbara is survived by 2 loving sons Brad Bates of Lakeville, and Doug Bates and his wife Theresa Bates of Middleboro. She is also survived by her loving niece Coralie Tripp of Middleboro, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many cousins. There will be a celebration of life at a later time and burial will be private.
