Obituary of Kristen E. Saidla

Kristen Elizabeth Smith Saidla, age 51, of Duxbury, MA, passed away on October 16, 2020.

Kristen was born in Worcester, MA to Janice & Dr. Harry Smith who reside in Princeton, MA.  A private memorial gathering will be held when COVID restrictions allow. 

Kristen graduated from The John Carroll School, Bel Air, MD in 1987. She was a member of the Spanish Honor Society and played interscholastic soccer.  She enrolled at the American University in Washington, DC in 1987.  She took time for experiential education such as a summer term in the National Outdoor Leadership School that included sea kayaking in Prince William Sound and a solo fjord crossing. 

She received her degree in International Studies in 1994.  She was a Human Resources specialist and held several senior managerial positions including Blue Cross Blue Shield,  Met Life and Manulife/John Hancock Financial Services Companies.  She was a passionate worker and donor to multiple wildlife and ecological causes.

Kristen is survived by her daughter Olivia, her partner Tim Thompson, her parents Janice and Harry Smith, her brother Matthew Smith and her nephew Evan Smith.
