Obituary of Lillian Gould Barrett

Lillian (Gould) Barrett, age 97, a resident of Quincy & Kingston, died peacefully, Tuesday December 15, 2020. Lillian was born in Quincy on December 2, 1923 to the late James and Frances (Clawson) Gould. Raised and educated in Quincy, she was a graduate of Quincy High School. Lillian worked at General Dynamics in Quincy and later for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in Boston.
She was a strong, independent woman devoted to her family and loved spending time with her 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and was there for every important event in their life. She was the loving mother of Leslie Dennis of Halifax, John Barrett and his wife Marie of Kingston and Nancy Beneduci of Jupiter, Florida. Predeceased by her former husband John Barrett, brother Thomas Gould and sisters Frances Kyller and Annie Campitelli, also survived by many nieces and nephews.
After moving to Kingston, she became an active member on the board of Kingston Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and organizing fundraising events. Her favorite place to be was at the ocean and she loved to swim. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage.
Due to current health concerns burial will be private. For those who wish, donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Association.
