James “Jim” A. Anshewitz, 73, of Carver, passed away on January 22, 2021. James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Anshewitz. He is survived by his son, Jason Anshewitz and wife Amy Anshewitz; his brother Richard Anshewitz and late wife Regina. He was preceded in death by his brother, John E. Anshewitz Jr and is survived by John’s wife Katherine; and many nieces and nephews. 

Jim served in 101st Airborne Division of the US Army, from 1966-1969. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He also received Commendation recognition from Massachusetts House Speaker, Robert A. Deleo, for 47 years of service as a letter carrier. James retired from the Post office on January 1, 2014. 

Jim loved working  outside, going for walks, raking leaves and fishing. He built a home in Carver in 1979. 

Visiting Hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St, Carver on Thursday, January 28, from 5:00 to 7:00PM. A graveside service will take place on Friday, January 29, at 10:00AM at Union Cemetery in Carver. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in James name can be made to St. Judes.
